The T421 GV-5 Gas Vent Packer System
was developed to isolate casing leaks in pumping or injection wells. The GV-5
system can be used on pumping wells with the installation of a tubing anchor catcher used
below the packers or with a lower tension packer on injection wells to allow for integrity
pressure tests down to the lower packer. The system was designed as an inexpensive
alternative to squeeze cementing. The packer style venting system allows for a positive
seal against the casing wall where cup style systems fail to perform.
